Taylormade Stealth 2 Rescue Key Features

Taylormade Stealth 2 Rescue twist face

Refined CG Placement

Over the original TaylorMade Stealth Rescue, TaylorMade has re-positioned the CG of the new Stealth 2 Rescue model.

TaylorMade took the weighting saved by the repositioning and added it to the rear of the club head to boost MOI and forgiveness.

Advanced Laser Alignment

Along the top of the carbon crown, TaylorMade included their laser alignment to help weekend warriors find the center of the face at address.

With the new TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue, the low, long profile of the face needs an indicator to help players find the center, and the alignment logo offers a quick, easy way to get aligned.

Twist Face Design

TaylorMade provided the Stealth 2 Rescue hybrid with the Twist Face technology that offers a forgiving face and helps amateurs maintain their intended target line.

For shots that leak toward the toe, TaylorMade’s innovative Twist Face maintains shot velocity to hold an average distance.

Our In-Depth Taylormade Stealth 2 Rescue Hybrid Review

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue

Looks

Featuring the black and red color palette synonymous with the TaylorMade Stealth Rescue hybrid series, the Stealth 2 Rescue, a favorite of Rory McIlroy, offers an attractive carbon crown that stands out as you hit shots.

You won’t find the carbon face here with these hybrids like the latest Stealth 2 drivers, but TaylorMade has included those, as mentioned earlier, shiny black carbon crown with the Stealth 2 Rescue hybrid that lightens overall head weight but maintains that impressive look in your golf bag.

Sound

By their very nature, hybrids don’t produce much sound; the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue isn’t an exception. Strikes sound good coming off the face, especially if you find the center of the face.

Helped by the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket that rests behind the face, the newest TaylorMade Stealth hybrid offers more face flex to minimize a loud cracking sound. During our testing, we felt the sound registered nicely compared to other new 2023 hybrid releases.

Feel

When it comes to feel and responsiveness, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue provides immediate feedback and lets you know what type of shot you struck from the fairway or tee box.

For a TaylorMade Stealth hybrid, the new standard model offers a cleaner sensation at impact, helping boost your confidence with each swing.

In warmer weather, the responsiveness offers no-vibration feedback that certainly helps your confidence in the hybrid.

Performance

During our testing, we focused on how our casual golfers performed with the Stealth 2 Rescue. We’re pleased to report our double-digit handicap testers found the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue produced reliable flight with the ability to work shots from side to side.

If you are a skilled golfer, you can expect the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue hybrid to deliver a middle-range launch from the rough that won’t catch in the higher grass.

The advanced tech of the innovative TaylorMade sole helps move the hybrid smoothly through the tougher areas on the golf course to provide clean contact for your game.

Accessible for players of any skill set or handicap, the newest TaylorMade Stealth Rescue delivers considerable power with finesse.

At the rear of the sole, TaylorMade placed a stationary steel weight to increase loft on shots from the ground on the Stealth Plus 2, although our testers were impressed with the head power when hitting stingers off the tee with this dynamic hybrid.

Specifications

  • Loft: 17°-28°
  • Shaft Length: 38.25”-40.75”
  • Lie Angle: 57.5°-59.5°
  • Swing Weight: D1, D0, C9

Pros

  • Large fairway wood-like head offers power and easy launch
  • Shallow profile gets under the golf ball for peak lift
  • Six loft options provide multiple options for your golf bag

Cons

  • No adjustable features limit workability

The Cobra Aerojet hybrid offers a larger, more rounded head, similar to a fairway wood, but with a smaller, more compact face. It delivers a reliable shot shape with consistent results, including more distance, better launch angle, and enough spin to stop shot on the greens.

Compared to the Stealth 2 Rescue, the Aerojet hybrid delivers a similar experience. Neither hybrid offers adjustable features, so if you are in the market for a fixed hosel hybrid, both models are worthy of your consideration.

I felt that the Aerojet’s lightweight feel provided boosted confidence with a healthy slice of workability, despite the lack of adjustable features.

If you are a high handicapper looking for a premium hybrid to improve your ball speed, launch angle and extend your carry distance, the Aerojet hybrid checks all the boxes.

Specifications

  • Loft: 19°-28°
  • Shaft Length: 39.25”-40.75”
  • Lie Angle: 58.5°-60°
  • Swing Weight: D1, D2

Pros

  • Affordable price point helps golfers on a budget
  • Four different loft options provide different flights and distances
  • Solid feel and responsiveness from sweet spot strikes

Cons

  • Compact head works as iron rather than fairway wood-like performance

The Wilson Dynapower hybrid provides you with a solid performance at an affordable price. It doesn’t have a rounded head, instead utilizing a narrow, compact head and face to produce easy launch and lift at impact.

Compared to the Stealth 2 Rescue, both lack adjustable features, but the TaylorMade hybrid definitely delivers more distance and ball speed than the Dynapower on the Trackman.

I did enjoy the compact build of the Dynapower when trying to shape shots from the fairway. Also, I liked the tight dispersion of the hybrid off the tee box, making it a club I’d feel comfortable using on tight fairways or longer par 3s.

Better for high handicappers and beginners looking for a new value hybrid, the Dynapower works hard to help you increase distance and improve your dispersion to reach more greens.

Our Verdict

For the most part, hybrids are not exciting golf clubs to play or even to evaluate. You want the club to deliver reliable shot shape and quick launch, something the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Rescue hybrid does very well.

With a lightweight, forgiving head, the Stealth 2 Rescue offers a nice weapon to attack long par 5s and a dependable tool for hitting more fairways off the tee box.

Great for mid handicappers looking for more forgiveness and additional distance from the fairway, the Stealth 2 Rescue offers a noticeable advancement over the previous model Stealth rescue.
