Specifications

  • Loft: 9°, 10.5°, 12°
  • Lie: 56.2°-57.2°
  • Shaft Length: 45.5”
  • Flex: Regular, A, Regular, Stiff, X-Stiff
  • Swing Weight: D1-D4

Pros

  • Lightweight and aerodynamic
  • Very fast clubhead speed
  • Solid forgiveness with impressive trajectory control

Cons

  • Lacks sliding weighting
  • Doesn’t carry sophisticated features

Cobra’s agile yet muscular Darkspeed X offers the same lightweight feel as last year’s Aerojet driver but with sleeker aerodynamic shaping that translates into higher ball speed.

This driver absolutely dazzles on the golf course, producing high, long drives that offer a tighter dispersion than the Aerojet.

The adjustable loft sleeve and interchangeable weights help customize shot shape and height, although a sliding rear weight would make this driver a true 5-star piece of golf equipment.

Along the hitting area, we found the X Driver offers superb ball speed with a healthy amount of forgiveness. Off-center strikes keep their target line without losing velocity.

The most accessible of the new Darkspeed drivers, the X offers playability for mid handicappers needing more distance and elite players who want a higher launch to boom their drives down the fairway.

Specifications

  • Loft: 9°, 10.5°, 12°
  • Lie: 58.2°-59.2°
  • Shaft Length: 45.5”
  • Flex: Regular, A, Regular, Stiff, X-Stiff
  • Swing Weight: D1, D1.5

Pros

  • Exceptional slice correction
  • Larger hitting area improves strike quality
  • Fast ball speed with better accuracy

Cons

  • Only for golfers struggling with slice
  • Golfers can’t grow with the club

Cobra’s Darkspeed Max Driver offers a nice alternative for golfers who want a frontline golf club to help them with their slice.

The Max Driver’s aerodynamic shaping increases club head speed while keeping the head stable through impact.

We loved the larger hitting area on the Darkspeed Max and how it helped with forgiveness and launch. The Max launched the ball high with fast ball speed, delivering extended carry with plenty of rollout.

Although we admit that draw-bias drivers are a great way to minimize side spin and neutralize a slice, your game can’t grow with the club. Once your game off the tee gets better, you’ll need to upgrade to a neutral driver.

An elite driver for high handicappers and beginners who need dramatic slice correction help, the Darkspeed Max continues Cobra’s impressive ability to help golfers who need it the most.

Cobra Darkspeed LS Driver

Specifications

  • Loft: 9°, 10.5°, 12°
  • Lie: 56.2°-57.2°
  • Shaft Length: 45.5”
  • Flex: Regular, A, Regular, Stiff, X-Stiff
  • Swing Weight: D1-D4

Pros

  • Tour shaping offers premium workability
  • Multiple interchangeable weights offer total customization
  • Innovative design with three stationary weights

Cons

  • Lacks forgiveness of other Darkspeed models
  • Ideal only for advanced golfers

Cobra’s Darkspeed LS is an absolute weapon off the tee box for low handicappers and scratch golfers. With a lower profile, it offers a more compact head that can deliver better workability.

With the Darkspeed LS, we had a blast hitting sweeping draws and majestic fades. Ball speed remained high regardless of whether we were indoors or outdoors or our weighting and loft sleeve positioning.

On weighting, we loved the three interchangeable weights and how they could potentially alter ball flight. While we still prefer a sliding weight, Cobra’s design does offer a cleaner appearance and a more focused way to affect ball flight.

Great for the best golfers on the golf course, the Darkspeed LS dramatically upgrades the Aerojet LS’s previous advancements.

Cobra Aerojet Driver

Cobra Driver for Mid Handicappers

Aerojet Driver

Specifications

  • Loft: 9°-12°
  • Lie: 56°-57°
  • Length: 45.5”
  • Weight: D2-D5

Pros

  • Aerodynamic shape delivers high swing speed
  • Adjustable hosel sleeve creates customized height and spin
  • Very forgiving with a wide sweet spot

Cons

  • No sliding weight to customize the shot shape

Built for speed, the Cobra Aerojet driver offers mid and high handicappers a weapon on the links for hitting more fairways with boosted distance.

The driver has several features worth noting, including an adjustable hosel sleeve and a low, deep CG that can easily lift the golf ball at impact.

We loved the aerodynamic shape of the Aerojet’s club head, which translates to how the club feels on the downswing.

You don’t feel the drag of oversized driver heads that you usually do with the Aerojet. Instead, the club moves swiftly with maximum power to the golf ball.

The Aerojet offers a sleeker, more attractive look than the previous LTDx Driver. For golfers complaining about Cobra’s lack of curb appeal in the bag, the Aerojet’s appearance alleviates those concerns.

The Aerojet, our choice for the best Cobra drivers on the market, remains a delight and a wonderfully built driver that can definitely increase your swing speed and distance.

Specifications

  • Loft: 9°-10.5°
  • Lie: 56°
  • Length: 45.5”
  • Weight: D4, D4.5, D5

Pros

  • Forward CG delivers low penetrating flight
  • Incredibly fast ball speed with extended carry
  • Two adjustable weights work with a hosel sleeve to create workability

Cons

  • Better for advanced players with experience

Cobra’s low spin driver produces low penetrating flight to help you find the fairway with high frequency.

The Cobra Aerojet LS Driver, a top-tier pick for low handicappers, produces workable flight that gives advanced golfers total control from the tee box.

The Cobra Aerojet LS Driver offers a speed-fueled head shape that reduces drag to produce maximum swing speed to the golf ball.

We loved how the adjustable weighting provided me with the tools and the hosel sleeve to create a reliable neutral-bias or fade-bias shot shape that we could depend upon throughout our round.

We found that the Aerojet LS delivered a more enjoyable experience than the LTDx LS Driver. It offers a slimmer, more aerodynamic feel, and the ball flight provides a lower, more penetrating path to the fairway.

The Cobra Aerojet LS Driver delivers top-tier performance, best for low handicappers but accessible for mid handicappers with high swing speeds.

  • Adjustable weighting offers customized shot height and shape

Cons

  • Only for golfers with slice correction needs

If you are in the market for a well-made draw-bias driver, the Cobra Aerojet Max Driver certainly provides the features to help your game.

Along with its raw speed, it offers adjustable weighting along the sole to produce either a draw or neutral bias for ball flight.

When evaluating features, we enjoyed the forgiveness of the Cobra Aerojet Max driver. Even on off-center strikes, the ball maintained the target line with a severe reduction in side spin.

When we compared the Aerojet Max to the previous LTDx Max Driver, we found that the Aerojet offered more slice correction.

During our testing the Aerojet Max routinely delivered up to 3-5 yards more correction when compared to the LTDx Max.

The Cobra Aerojet Max driver remains among the most accessible drivers for high handicappers looking to grow into their golf clubs as their swing improves.

Pros

  • High MOI design helps create high, straight drives
  • Low CG boosts height for extended carry
  • Milled face reduces side spin for tighter dispersion

Cons

  • Harder workability compared to other advanced drivers

Cobra’s LTDx driver offers high MOI and low CG to create the high, far-reaching drives that golfers dream of hitting before their rounds.

With a healthy dose of distance and forgiveness, the LTDx reduces side spin for better accuracy.

When it comes to drivers that bring the power, the LTDx really excelled.

Not only were we able to generate a ton of speed, but we weren’t worried about the ball flying in all directions. Instead, the club gave me so much confidence that we found our distance readings increasing during our time with the LTDx.

The LTDx Driver offers more distance and better launch when compared to the previous King Radspeed Driver from Cobra.

This Cobra driver remains one smooth operator for mid and high handicappers looking for an advanced club that helps them reach more fairways.

  • Adjustable weighting creates fade or draw bias
  • Powerful, forgiving face generates distance
  • Lower CG helps boost peak height

Cons

  • Best for high swing speeds

Cobra’s gorgeous LTDx LS driver, made specifically for advanced players, provides a healthy amount of workability with the distance and penetrating flight low handicappers crave for their game.

The adjustable weighting and hosel sleeve offers an additional layer of customization that helps single-digit handicappers work the golf ball in any direction they please.

While low spin drivers aren’t for everyone, the LTDx LS does feel accessible the more you swing the club.

We really enjoyed the launch provided by this driver. The ball comes quickly off the face with spin and speed to help me get the carry we need to reduce the length of second shots.

The LTDx LS offers a longer shaft and a more forgiving hitting area than the previous Radspeed driver.

The LTDx LS remains one of the most accurate drivers, delivering top-tier precision for golfers who want to craft their shots from scratch.

Pros

  • Provides over 10 yards of slice correction
  • Low, deep CG boosts peak height to extend carry
  • Great for slower swing speeds

Cons

  • Draw-bias correction limits golfers’ ability to hit straight shots

The Air-X Offset from Cobra offers high handicappers and beginners the opportunity to play with a driver that provides a healthy amount of slice correction.

It comes at a very affordable price to help golfers that are watching their wallets as they search for golf clubs that can boost their distance and improve their accuracy.

By our account, we routinely witnessed over 10 yards of slice correction with each swing, a huge difference for golfers that need help keeping the ball in the fairway.

We also liked the offset at address as it helped me clearly see the golf ball with a square club face.

As we hit the Air-X Offset Driver, we were floored at how the latest model offered a more lightweight experience with superior feel and responsiveness when compared to older Offset models.

The Air-X, easily one of the best drivers for correcting a slice offered at a lower price than most top-tier golf clubs for the tee box, produces the results you are looking for off the tee box.

Pros

  • Front weighing on head increases forgiveness
  • Carbon-Wrap Crown offers balanced weight through impact
  • Cobra Connect tracks swing data through an app

Cons

  • Forward-biased weighting may limit carry for slow swing speed
  • Lack of sliding weight reduces customization

While the Radspeed XB is for players looking to improve, the standard Radspeed driver is for the best of the best.

All of the Radspeed features from the XB have ported over to the traditional model, except for two sole-based weights that can dramatically fine-tune the height of your drives.

Another great feature of the Radspeed is the Cobra Connect attachment that works through the grip to download your swing data to the company’s app.

After your round, you can track the distance, accuracy, and overall rating of each drive.

The Cobra King Radspeed provides better ball speed and launch when compared to the previous Cobra driver, the King F9.

Easily the best driver for serious golf lovers, the Cobra Radspeed Driver offers a lighter weight titanium foundation that generates jaw-dropping speed.

How We Tested the Cobra Drivers

When we test Cobra drivers, we first evaluate their specifications and compare them to previous models.

For this test, we looked at all three Darkspeed models and compared each to their AeroJet counterparts. We noted differences between the two drivers in lie angle, loft options, and adjustable features.

Once that evaluation concluded, we hit the new Darkspeed drivers in a controlled indoor environment.

By hitting balls on the TrackMan launch monitor, we can get hard, indisputable data points to reference once we take the drivers outside and begin to hit balls in the outdoor elements where wind and humidity play more of a factor.

As we hit drives with the new Cobra models, we examine data points such as carry distance, total distance, launch angle, and spin rate.

After several dozen indoor swings, we took the three Darkspeed drivers to the outdoor range and duplicated our evaluation in an outdoor setting.

In this environment, we also attempt to hit fades and draws while adjusting loft sleeves to see how easily the driver can duplicate our intended shot.

Along with capturing all of the previously noted data points, we also want to see each driver’s ability to work the ball from side to side and various launch angle positions.

After the outdoor session is completed, we compare our notes to the data points and make conclusions about who can benefit from each driver in the Cobra Darkspeed series.

How to Choose the Best Cobra Driver

Forgiveness

All golfers, even ones as talented as Rickie Fowler, want a forgiving driver that helps with off-center strikes.

For beginners and high handicappers, a forgiving driver can create the type of hit quality that instills confidence and increases overall length.

More talented golfers will find that a forgiving driver reduces side spin and allows them to reach more fairways for better entry shots into the green.

Distance

One of the biggest benefits of upgrading your driver to one of the many fine drivers from Cobra remains the outstanding distance performance.

If you are looking for longer distance, better accuracy, and more customization through technology, a Cobra driver provides these characteristics with ease.

Also, with the ability to move weight around along the sole, the driver can gain further specialized performance for even greater results.

Adjustable Features

Cobra drivers offer two adjustable features in most models.

An adjustable sleeve along the shaft allows the player to add or subtract loft from the face. You can create a shallower height with a more forward roll by reducing loft.

CNC Milled Face

Cobra drivers remain the leader in creating a milled hitting area along the club’s sweet spot. The milled sweet spot reduces side spin, generates soaring distance, and dramatically improves forgiveness.

With most Cobra models, a low center of gravity coupled with the milled hitting area offers a high launch to boost yardage and reduce the spin that causes players to miss the fairway.

Low Spin

One of the biggest benefits of buying the latest and best Cobra drivers is the reduction of the shot-killing sidespin that causes slices and hooks.

With the wide sweet spot on the company’s aerodynamic head shape, golfers can take advantage of advanced technology to create tighter shot dispersion along the fairway.

Cobra’s innovative drivers, beloved on the PGA Tour by golfers such as Rickie Fowler, are great for players that need help reducing their side spin.

High Launch

Cobra drivers offer high launches fueled by their uniquely milled face for high handicappers and beginners.

Even with their draw-bias model, the F-Max, a golfer struggling with slicing can redirect their drives with the offset hosel boosting shot flight for longer carry and better overall performance.

With the company’s drivers that offer interchangeable weighting, players can alter the configuration of each weight to adjust the moderate flight.
