Callaway Apex Pro 24 Irons Features
Progressive Face Design
Implementing a progressive face design, the Apex Pro ’24 irons optimize ball flight and control across the set. The longer irons integrate a thin, forged 455 steel Face Cup.
This flexible rim around the perimeter boosts ball speeds and forgiveness for potent distance and playability.
In the scoring irons of the Callaway Apex Pro 24 set, a forged 1025 carbon steel face plate provides a precise, consistent feel for supreme control on approach shots.
This blended progressive technology gives golfers the best of both worlds with explosive distance in the long irons and exacting, precise short irons.
Hollow Body Construction
The Apex Pro 24 irons incorporate a progressive hollow body construction, a first for the Callaway Apex Pro irons line. This pairs a thin forged face with a soft forged 1025 carbon steel body frame for lightning-fast ball speed.
An internal urethane microsphere layer helps dampen sound and vibration for a pure, luxurious feel at impact. This highly advanced multi-piece build allows the forged faces to flex for high ball speeds and playability.
By integrating this hollow body design and microsphere technology into a forged iron for the first time, Callaway has elevated the iconic soft Apex feel to new levels of premium forged iron performance.
Dynamic Sole Design
Callaway engineered the Apex Pro 24 irons with a Dynamic Sole Design to optimize turf interaction.
The leading edge has a pre-worn leading edge to cut through the grass smoothly, while a relieved trailing edge allows a clean exit. This combination reduces drag to maintain ball speeds on swing after swing.
No matter the lie or variances in turf conditions, the sole ensures consistent contact and an ability to control trajectory throughout the set.
Our In-Depth Callaway Apex Pro 24 Irons Review
Feel and Sound
The Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons don’t deliver a cushioned feel, but if you hit the golf ball on the sweet spot, you are certainly rewarded with a smooth sensation you’ll keep chasing as you hit balls.
All irons provide the same MIM weight along the back of the iron head to deliver an improved, tour-level feel and outstanding control to each Callaway Apex Pro 24 iron.
When it comes to sound, the Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons aren’t loud or clangy. Instead, there’s a dense crispness that offers a pleasing contact sound at impact.
Performance
Long Irons
With the longer irons of this Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons set, I was looking for penetrating flight with improved workability.
Although it took me some time to find the right method, something to expect with advanced irons, I was able to launch shots with the longer irons and get the distance I was looking for with each swing.
Even the gapping held firm after a few dozen swings, looking to find the connection with these new Apex Pros.
There’s minimal offset here with the 4-and 5-iron of the Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons set, and it definitely helps with workability, but forgiveness suffers. If you are a single-digit handicapper who plays often, the Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons setup plays to your strengths.
Once I was on the course, the longer irons of the Callaway Apex Pro 24 set responded with exceptional accuracy and crispness that you couldn’t find with game-improvement sets.
The premium turf interaction remains one of the primary reasons I saw such outstanding results throughout my range and playing sessions with the Apex Pro 24 irons.
Short Irons
When you compare the 24 irons to the Apex Pro Irons of the past few years, the new release hones and sharpens what works wonderfully well about this iron series. This is especially true with the short irons in this set.
With the scoring Apex Pro irons, I found they produced the high launch with a steep landing angle that I’m looking for when hoping to stop shots cold on the greens. The new 24 irons are some of the most precise I’ve tested this year.
As I worked the ball from right to left and left to right, the launch stayed high, and the spin rates held inside my expected margin.
Once I had my distances dialed in with the Apex Pro 24 irons, I really began to target the flag during my range sessions.
Simply put, the accuracy of these advanced irons is tough to beat, even by other competitor models such as the Titleist T100s.
Specs
The popular True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts are available in steel for these Apex irons. The shafts deliver premium performance across the board, producing staggering distance with the long irons.
When it comes to the shorter irons, the True Temper Dynamic Gold steel shafts produce a smoother, more reliable feel during ball-striking.
The Apex Pro irons also come equipped with Golf Pride Tour Velvet golf grips. I found these grips offer outstanding tackiness that keeps the club firmly in the fingers during the swing, minimizing twisting and improving consistency.

Our Honest Verdict
After thoroughly playing with the new Callaway Apex Pro 24 irons, it’s clear they live up to the renowned Apex name and then some.

The irons feature an innovative face design and balanced tungsten weighting, two features that helped the irons perform beautifully during my range sessions and when it came time to attack the course.
The Apex Pro 24s checked every box in my extensive testing, from looks to feel to flight characteristics. If you’re a highly skilled player wanting the very best in forged iron playability and technology, these irons should be at the top of your list.
