Featuring the Grain Flow Forged 4135 Chromoly face and neck, the Mizuno Pro 225 iron offers a hot face that generates ball speed with stable flight that golfers can rely upon from the fairway and rough.
Steel Back Weight
Along the back of the club head, Mizuno placed a steel back weight to increase stability and MOI through the impact zone. With the scoring irons especially, the weight produces a more tour-like penetrating flight with a steep landing angle that holds the green.
Hollow Body COR Construction
The hollow construction keeps the weight low in the Mizuno Pro 225 irons to increase swing speed and extend distance. The hollow cavity works with the tungsten weighting and copper underlay to improve feel and responsiveness on every strike.

These Mizuno pro 225 irons have a stake among the best looking forged clubs in the golf industry. From the Grain Flow face and neck to the Nickel Chrome finish, these Mizuno irons are absolutely dazzling at address or in your golf bag.
At address, the Mizuno Pro 225 iron offers a clean, medium top line that helps you center the golf ball along the middle of the face.
Feel
The Mizuno Pro 225 set offers sophisticated feel with top-tier reliability. The blade iron moves smoothly through the turf at impact without hesitating, helping give you more confidence with each progressive swing.
With the long irons in this set, the impact feels powerful. And when I compared the distance and accuracy gained on these clubs with other sets on the Trackman, my initial instincts certainly supported that they feel as good as they perform.
Mizuno also decided not to include polymer inside the club head to dampen vibration, yet I don’t believe that has harmed the overall feel at impact.
Sound
When evaluating this category for my Mizuno Pro 225 irons review, I was looking for that sound professional golfers get from their forged iron. I was hoping this Mizuno pro iron would deliver that crisp, clean snap at impact that demonstrates power and speed.
And after playing with these irons for several rounds and range sessions, I can confidently say that the Pro 225s deliver some of the best sound I’ve heard from a players distance iron during my time evaluating clubs.
The Nickel Chrome provides a softness at impact, but that outer coating does a wonderful job at producing confidence-building sound.
Performance
I really loved playing with these clubs. Not only do they provide jaw-dropping distance, but when it comes to workability, I found the 225s were more than capable of delivering what I wanted from each shot.
When it comes specifically to distance, the Mizuno Pro 225 set ranked high according to my standards. The Mizuno iron was almost as long as the Callaway Rogue ST Pro set, easily one of the longest sets of forged irons I’ve ever played.
With the mid and short irons, the length produced with help from the tungsten weighting offers dazzling results.
Even though these clubs feature a compact club head, on off-center strikes and miss hits, these blades offer one of the most forgiving responses when it comes to the top-tier players-distance category.
Compared to Mizuno’s HMB series, the 225s are a big improvement, offering more distance, softer feel, and the ability to hold greens with more regularity.
If you were to ask me who could benefit the most from these clubs, I’d say golfers with handicaps from 5-15, although the closer you are to single-digits, the more you can expect to benefit from playing these magnificent creations.
