Srixon ZX5 Mk II Driver Features
Star Frame Crown
Like Callaway’s Jailbreak technology, Srixon’s Star Frame Crown helps stiffen the head to add power and speed to your drives.
Since the ZX5 MK II design lowers the overall weight, the designers needed to increase strength, so they included internal bars that run horizontally within the head of the ZX5 MK II driver.
As a result, Srixon created one of their most potent drivers for mid to high handicappers.
Dual Flex Zones
With an emphasis on increasing forgiveness, Srixon added dual flex zones to the rebound frame within the ZX5 MK II driver head.
With the flex zones, the driver adds more ball speed with increased energy transfer, minimizing side spin to reduce the penalty caused by swings that encourage a slice.
The Srixon ZX5 MK II LS version offers even more flexibility to lower the spin rate.
Premium Adjustability

Looks
While it does lean a bit too much on the hard-edged modern look that most 2023 drivers feature, the Srixon ZX5 MK II driver delivers a clean appearance that certainly enhances a golfer’s confidence.
The Srixon ZX5 MK II utilizes a matte black finish trimmed with chrome, grey striping, and red lettering.
Although it doesn’t have the wow factor of something like TaylorMade’s Stealth 2 series, the Srixon driver does promote a look of speed with a large, rounded head.
Sound
During our testing, the Srixon ZX5 MK II received high marks regarding sound. As the ball hits the sweet spot, the sound offers a crisp reaction that lets you know if you’ve put your weight perfectly behind the drive.
The Srixon ZX5 MK II driver features a larger head than previous models from the company, so there was a general fear from our testers that the club would be louder or carry a heavy, unpleasing sound.
But after spending time with this advanced driver, we were quite pleased with how shots sounded off the face.
Feel
Srixon has gone to great lengths to enhance the feel of the ZX5 MK II. After spending time with the club, we’re happy to report that they’ve succeeded.
The ZK5 MK II also offers outstanding responsiveness, making it one of the more dynamic drivers when looking to receive immediate feedback.
And as we’ve previously written above, the company has added several useful features to increase flexibility across the entire hitting area to increase length while improving the overall responsiveness of every drive.
Performance
Once we got the ZK5 MK II on the driving range, we initially noticed the stability and enhanced construction of the driver. Once we started taking swings, we were dually impressed with the feel and length of the driver.
When it comes to spin rate, something that most golfers have attempted to lower with their driver, the ZK5 MK II offers mid-range spin.
Srixon does offer an LS version of the ZK5 MK II, so if you are interested in that model, be warned it is for advanced players with superior swing speed.
Along with the impressive driver, the company also offers utility irons, namely the Srixon ZX MK II utility iron, that provide the same benefits for the tee box, such as easy lift and extended carry, as the Srixon ZX5 MK II driver.
We also noted that the shot dispersion tightened the more we played with the driver, especially once we started taking the club onto the course.

Once we got the Ping G430 Max on the Trackman, we saw a noticeable difference in spin compared to similar drivers.
It kept the ball in a low-to-mid range with low, penetrating flight that provided even some roll out after landing on the fairway.
