Stealth 2 vs Paradym Drivers: Our Head-to-Head Comparison

Distance

Both the TaylorMade Stealth 2 and Callaway Paradym drivers are designed for lengthy yardage through advanced face technologies.

The Stealth 2’s inverted cone face expands the sweet spot for faster shot speeds, while the Paradym’s AI-designed Flash Face is uniquely configured per loft for optimized velocity.

Both also use weight placement to increase launch and forgiveness.

During testing, the Callaway Paradym produced slightly faster ball speeds with a slight draw bias, while the Stealth 2 was a touch more forgiving on off-center strikes.

When it comes to the longer of the two drivers, the Callaway Paradym driver takes the category.

Feel

The Stealth 2 and Paradym provide a solid, powerful feel at impact, aided by their advanced composite crowns.

The Stealth 2’s carbon composite crown contributes to a responsive, energetic feel, while the triaxial carbon crown of the Paradym promotes a stiffer sensation.

With the same comparison, both drivers integrate some flexibility into the faces, with the TaylorMade golf driver featuring a thin, flexible Carbon Twist Face and the Paradym with its flexible Face Cup.

Since the Callaway Paradym driver offered a stiffer, less responsive feel during testing, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 takes the prize for best responsiveness.

Accuracy

The Callaway Paradym features a draw bias to help golfers throw their shots back toward their intended target line, but the Twist Face feature tested well during my evaluation regarding accuracy.

When compared to the stiffer, longer Callaway Paradym driver, I felt the TaylorMade features a tighter dispersion that stayed along my target line more frequently.

When it came time to choose between the two drivers, I felt the Stealth 2 passed the test and won the comparison between these outstanding golf clubs when evaluating overall accuracy.

Stand Out Features

TaylorMade Stealth 2 Driver

ICT

The Stealth 2 driver utilizes TaylorMade’s inverted cone technology in the face design.

This inverted cone shape on the inside of the face expands the sweet spot and helps produce faster shot speeds across a larger area of the face.

Carbon Twist Face

The Stealth 2 driver has TaylorMade’s Carbon Twist Face technology which uses a lighter carbon composite material to allow the face to be made thinner and more flexible.

This thinner, more flexible face enhances golf ball speeds on off-center hits by flexing and twisting to put more loft on miss-hits.

Carbon Reinfoced Composite Ring

The Stealth 2 utilizes a Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring that sits along the perimeter of the head.

This lightweight carbon ring enables weight to be repositioned lower and farther back for optimal MOI and a more forgiving sweet spot.

Jailbreak A.I.

The Callaway Paradym driver incorporates Jailbreak A.I., which uses artificial intelligence to determine the optimal Jailbreak design.

This AI-designed Jailbreak increases the stiffness of the head, promoting faster ball speeds across the hitting area.

Face Cup Technology

The Paradym driver utilizes Callaway’s Face Cup Technology, which promotes fast strikes across a large area of the face.

The Face Cup’s flexible rim allows the face to flex and release at impact, producing greater golf ball speed and yardage on the golf course.

Adjustable Perimeter Weighting

The Callaway club head also utilizes a 15-gram sliding weight along the rear to create a custom shot shape with up to 12 yards of correction.

The patented weighting from Callaway also offers high MOI and deepens CG for higher launch on the links.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Stealth 2 or Paradym more forgiving?

Between the two drivers, the Stealth 2 driver edges out the Paradym in terms of overall forgiveness. Its Twist Face technology creates a high MOI and low, deep CG, minimizing spin and providing more correction.

The Paradym offers a more solid feel, better stability, and harder resistance to twisting on miss-hits, giving it a slight advantage in this battle.

Is the Stealth 2 worth the upgrade?

For most golfers, the key upgrades in the Stealth 2 may not justify replacing your Stealth driver. The enhanced carbon face is slightly more forgiving, but core technologies remain the same.

However, for those seeking marginally better distance, launch, and speed from center and off-center hits, the refined range of increased performance from the updated Stealth 2 may warrant the upgrade cost.

What is the difference between Paradym and Paradym Triple Diamond?

The Paradym Triple Diamond integrates a triple diamond aerodynamic pattern on the crown to further reduce drag for increased clubhead speed. It also has a slightly lower CG for added forgiveness.

The standard Paradym still provides excellent shot speeds, but the Triple Diamond offers slight but significant gains.

For most amateurs, the regular Callaway Paradym driver will deliver top-notch performance at a lower price point than the Triple Diamond model.

Our Verdict

After testing both drivers and accumulating data, I can safely say that these two models project a nice mixture of distance, forgiveness, and feel.

While I think the Paradym works better for beginners and high handicappers when compared to the Stealth 2, the TaylorMade driver is accessible enough to improve a new golfer’s game on the links.

Use a TaylorMade Stealth 2 driver if:

  • Want distance with a slice of healthy forgiveness
  • High MOI with clean, powerful contact
  • Sleek, attractive appearance

Use a Callaway Paradym driver if:

  • Want a solid feel with boosted distance
  • Total customization with sliding weighting and adjustable hosel
  • Exceptional sound and responsiveness

While both drivers offer their own methods to improve your game, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 takes this head-to-head battle with its premium appearance, exceptionally long ball flight, and tighter dispersion than the Paradym.
